We LOVE to read! Lately we've been reading away and would like to share our new favorite books with you!

We just finished reading the three latest installments in the House of Night series - Novela #1 Dragon's Oath, Book #9 Destined, and Novela #2 Lenobia's Vow. If you are not familiar with the House of Night series, this is a series about vampyre society. Not quite in the realm of Twilight, but just as intriguing. The series introduces a different type of "vampyre" that does not meet your typical "vampire" standards. Rather than being bitten and changed, you are "marked" and chosen. The vampyre society follows their goddess Nyx and lives much like humans. The series focuses on one "fledgling" {a vampyre in the making}, Zoey and her journey from being marked to completing the change. There are many struggles along the way and some very scary battles to face. We don't want to give away too much of the series for those who have not begun to read, but we are definitely addicted! Authors P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast, a mother-daughter writing duo, continue to capture our interest in the latest books of this elaborate series. Check out the House of Night website and get to know the characters. If you are looking for paranormal romance, this series will surely captivate you too.

By the same publishers, St Martin's Press, we also just read Playdate by Thelma Adams. A drama filled novel about the ups and downs of married life. Unlike many novels with over the top romance and the dreamy guy you hope to some day find in real life, but never actually do, the story is about REAL life. This is a story about how tough marriage can be and how sometimes you find yourself disconnected. How do you fix that? Love is real, but it's work. There are moments of love, moments of frustration, and moments of sadness. Playdate is HIGHLY recommended!
